I think Gdańsk mostly wasn't on people's radar because Poland. For some reason, a lot of people - at least in Germany - seem to think that there's nothing there to see. Which is completely wrong. There's plenty of old cities and beautiful landscapes there.

And yeah, I totally get prioritizing people over places when you've only got so much time and resources to spend elsewhere. Mostly, I just travel to stay with a friend in the city I lived in when I went to uni these days. And not just because it's cheap.

Four weeks? I think that's minimum in Germany. Coupled with the concept of sick days, I really pity Americans.
