Snowflake Challenge #3: A Wishlist

Challenge #3

Create a wish list of fandom things (podfic, graphics, playlists, canon recs translations, research help, vids, sky's the limit!) that you'd like to receive. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Right now, I don’t actually have that many fandom wishes. So, here’s my very short list:

  1. People to friend who are into Korean dramas and who post about them on occasion (doesn’t matter in what way or how often)
  2. Someone to beta one of my unfinished stories (Fandoms: Andor, Banshee, Carnival Row, The King’s Affection, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Warrior (TV 2019), plus Highlander and Babylon Berlin in German)

Snowflake Challenge promotional banner featuring feet in snuggly socks, a mug of hot chocolate, a notebook with 'dreams' written on the cover, and a guitar. Text: Snowflake Challenge January 1-31.

Those are great fandom wishes. I don't know anything about Korean dramas so I hope you find some kindred spirits through your wishes! Fandom is a broad and wonderful thing. :)

I'm into Korean dramas! Mostly watch on Netflix as it's most accessible platform for me; and likely watch a drama if it has my fave actors/actresses in, but will give anything a watch if the trailer looks good.

Currently watching Castaway Diva. Next on my list is GyeongSeong Creature.

What are you currently watching/recently watched?

Highlander in German?

I can’t do it, but I might know someone who can. Do you mind if I share your request elsewhere?

My friend [personal profile] black_dwarf is a Highlander fan who is also German, and would be willing to beta read for you. She says to reach out to her on DW. Or, if you're on Discord, I could hook you two up that way.

Thanks for letting me know :)

I post about Korean dramas, a lot of BL ones but there's a bit more variety than that might appear to suggest.

As you can see, I don't just post about BL Korean dramas. ;D

To date, Goblin is my favourite Kdrama but there are quite a few giving it a run for its money.

As a fan fic writer, I'm more drawn to M/M fic but that doesn't limit my viewing tastes.

I'm a huge fan of the mystery genre but in dramas in general I'm looking for a 'real' plot but don't mind if there's a romance 'B' plot. It's more that if I'm going to watch something that's more 'romance' than anything else, it's likely to be short episode/short run BL because, again, I would prefer to have a plot.

I have quite a few mates who are into Kdramas as well as Cdramas so you'll probably cross paths with them as well.

I've always been someone where if I love the canon ships, I've been content with canon. Fan fic usually only comes into play when I ship something that isn't canon and I want to explore it. My small store of Gen fic has been written for Forever and other such familial relationships.

One of the interesting things about getting into Asian dramas for me is that I find myself often loving the canon relationships *and* my own non-canon ones. In Goblin, I love all the relationships exactly as they are... but I also have some interest in Kim Shin/Wang Yeo though I haven't pursued it much/actually written anything for it. That's about to change only because one of my mates requested it for my 12 Days of Christmas offer.

The number of canons I love far outnumbers the number of canons for which I have ships, even canon ones, and that's certainly true of the Kdramas I've watched.

In this case, not a drama. Just regular old broadcast telly.

hello! i'm here from your comment on the master post. i watch k-dramas avidly and post about them on occasion, both general musings or meta and thoughts on specific shows. examples: the sound of magic and the heavenly idol!

i've also posted about a couple of k-movies: method and love and leashes. and i'm studying the korean language. i'd be happy to be friends.
