Well, I've heard a lot of people say that this and that just can't be written in German because it sounds bad (sex scenes, for example), or that one should never ever read/watch the translated version of something (because the English language is superior, yes, even if you don't speak English well enough).
And, you know, German fanfiction sucks on principle, German reviewers are idiots. I'm talking about those people.
If people don't like to read in German at all, that's just fine. They might be missing out on something, but that's their choice (I'm certainly missing out on stuff in Japanese fandom). They can still interact with others in German, and they generally don't treat German fanfiction, meta, reviews or fandom interaction in general as inferior.
