Vids @ Imeem?

I recently wanted to watch vids again and followed quite a few links (among them recs by blnchflr and frogspace) to imeem, but about half of the time I was told this:

We apologize, but the video: videoname

is not available at this time.

Did I miss something (most likely option)? Did a number of vidders decide not to use the site anymore? I know some of them were there a few months ago because I watched them not too long ago.

I know a lot of vidders have had their vids removed from imeem, but that was a long time ago. I have dead links, then?

I doubt it. I tried to watch a vid yesterday that someone uploaded the very same day and got that message. My bet is that imeem has trouble loading the vid or that they have implemented the same kind of thing youtube uses and block the content.
