So, this is my first post for the [community profile] snowflake_challenge this year (and ever): Challenge #2: set some goals for the coming year. My goals for this year:

  1. Meet my wordcount goal for [community profile] getyourwordsout. I chose the light pledge (75k) again, and since I made it last year (although it was a bit of a crunch), I'm optimistic about my chances this year. If you think some accountability like this would work for you as well: sign-ups are still open, and it totally helped me be more productive last year, even if it tends to take ages for anything I write to get published.

  2. Be more socially active, fannishly. I tend to lurk, and I want to change that again, which is part of why I participate in this challenge. I also don't like basically all current social media platforms fandom is on, so this basically means more DW posts. If you're interested in me posting about something, just say so!

  3. Write more fic for exchanges. This will be the hardest one, since there are hardly any exchanges out there that work for me. I have only one pairing-matching exchange (Chocolate Box) in me per year, since they exhaust me, which basically leaves me with that and Yuletide, since [community profile] fandomgiftbox - I like the giftbox format as well - is probably defunct.

  4. Write some more meta I used to love meta, and I want to write more of it. I did post some last year, but I tend to be super insecure about my opinions these days, which really needs to change.

Congrats on succeeding with gywo last year! Hope this year will be full of even more words.

Going back out of your shell in fandom is so incredibly hard, especially at the current speed it is moving in. It's so much easier to just be a lurker, but definitely worth it when you're able to connect with people who have the same passions and interests as you. Good luck with it!

I'm really considering giving exchanges a go -- I tried it years ago and wasn't a big fan, but I am considering trying it again, it just seems so scary, haha. I am cheering you on for all of your goals, good luck with it all. ✧٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧

Congrats on meeting your GYWO goal last year - and good luck for this year. I've pledged a habit goal of 120 days so my fingers are crossed.

I love your goals and I'm excited at the idea of seeing more meta on DW!

After hemming and hawing I finally signed up for gywo yesterday, also at the 75K level because i'm just trying to get into the swing of writing again. Good luck to us BOTH! :)

I'm trying not to lurk as well - one of the reasons I've gotten myself a DW account and jumping feet first into snowflake. Good luck!
