Because RL kind of got in the way a lot this week, here’s two for one!

Rec Us Your Newest Thing.

Well, when RL drama wasn’t sucking the joy out of life this week, I was busy binging My Man Is Cupid, so yeah, I could have done this challenge earlier, but at what price? I wouldn’t have been able to catch up on the epic love story of a cupid/fairy who got hit by his own arrow that one time, leading to 500 years of loneliness, him hunting for a serial killer, and then him falling in love with a vet who is very determined that he’s the guy that the mountain god is going to pair her up with once she’s done hiking up a mountain a thousand times. Summaries kind of don’t do this drama justice, but it’s funny and cute and a lot more murdery than the poster, summaries and title suggest.

It also has Jang Dong-yoon looking good in period clothing (the early 90s look especially), Park Ki-woong’s homicide detective deciding to adopt a dog, three other fairies/cupids (one of which turns into a dog) and the female main character being super determined that this guy is her one, actually, fuck what the gods say.

So yeah, I know what I’m watching the rest of this weekend, hoping it won’t fumble the landing.

Five Things! The five things are totally up to you.

By no means exhaustive and in no particular order – I haven’t watched their whole filmographies either, there’s too many dramas and I’m not paid for watching them – but I will branch out a little, just for them:

  • Lee Dong-wook: I drew the line at Strangers From Hell (maybe I will get around to it eventually, but it’s the kind of drama I have to be in the mood for), but without him, I wouldn’t have watched Life or Bad and Crazy. No regrets.
  • Kim Min-jung: I love myself an actress that is as good at chewing on scenery as she is. She was absolutely the best part of My Fellow Citizens, and I’m probably the only person who got into The Devil Judge for her more than Ji Sung.
  • Song Joong-ki: I loved him in Sungkyunkwan Scandal and gave a lot of series a shot, just for him, with mixed results. Vincenzo was one I absolutely don’t regret.
  • Shin Se-kyung: I wouldn’t have watched Run On without her in it, but I probably enjoyed her most in Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung, at least so far.
  • Lee Joon-gi: I really love how versatile he can be – he can play a nice guy in a comedy, but he can do dark too. So it’s always fun to watch him, especially when the drama gives him something good to work with (see Flower of Evil)

I'm sorry your week has contained drama.

I don't know your fandoms but I still enjoyed reading about them. I always do when the love people have for characters and shows/movies etc shine through. And that happened here.
