☞ So, the latest Supernatural episode got me thinking … If the anti-christ is the child of a demon that possesses a virgin, what does this say about Christ? So far, the demons and angels in the series were portrayed as more or less the same thing in different clothes. The adoration for God/Lucifer, the vessels, being really hard to kill, etc. Does this mean that Christ in the SPN 'verse is the child of Gabriel and Mary, and that Gabriel was possessing Mary?

☞ The OTW is looking for volunteers and donations. Since I do volunteer already and am kind of broke, I thought I'd simply spread the word.

☞ I'm really, really disappointed with the latest two Sanctuary episodes. I kind of liked Ashley and it was overall a bit too dark and bloody for my liking. Also: While I do like Jack the Ripper and Nikola Tesla, was it really necessary to let both of them live and kill off the girl instead?

☞ I wrote meta about why I think the AO3 needs to be translated to be accessible, but I'm not sure if I should post it (openly), since I am obviously biased and probably demanding far too much. It also feels a bit weird to write meta about the topic, especially since I'm kind of an insider and have this feeling that I should keep it on the inside. What do you think?

I was asked this twice today. Weird, I thought it was pretty much the most common acronym by now and the name is a bit long to write out.

I'm not a writer, so although I think the OTW is a great project, I don't really have any day-to-day interest in it :o)

I can understand that. Especially since it's not yet the great resource for reader that it can only become once it's out of beta and really big.

Post it, please! I think the most difficult thing about 'being on the inside' is that it makes you feel you've lost the distance, and with that the right, to criticize. I don't really know how to negotiate that myself.

But, yeah, the fact that the translation interface is lower priority makes me sad, even though I understand it (we need moar coders!) :/

(I prefer saying 'the Archive' because AO3 is a uniquely English acronym. Uhm, go figure. But it takes two steps to decode while Archive only takes one step to translate, you know?)

It's not that I feel I don't have the right to criticize. I think I do. My problem is that I feel like I should only voice that criticism within the organisation, since my viewpoint might be influenced by restricted information. Or something. Or because it might seem like I'm throwing a hissy fit or try to further my agenda in an unreasonable way by involving the outside.

... I'm thinking about this way too much, aren't I?

And well, I don't call it the Archive, because I'm a Dresden Files fan, and we have a character and an archive that are called "the Archive".

Eh, yes, that train of thought is precisely what I mean. I know it well >_>; Sure, you have every right to voice criticism, but these concerns have a somewhat prohibitive effect anyway, right?

Yeah. We talked about it among the translators, but I don't know how much of it was ever discussed openly. FYI, I just posted it.
